How to read this

Diameter is the reliable signal. Only 13 sizes appear on the job and they are far apart, so a caliper or pi tape settles it. Length is the weak one — it sorts the candidates, it doesn't pick between them.

The fittings are your confirmation. Bend, branch, valve and bellow counts are far more distinctive than a tape reading. If the counts disagree, it's the wrong line however well the length fits.

Identical items are flagged. Where two or more lines share a diameter, a length and the same fittings they are interchangeable — tick any one of them.

Ticking off narrows the rest. The pool shrinks as you work, so the awkward ones get easier towards the end.

If it isn't on the list, add it. + Add item takes a diameter (the one thing it insists on), a length, how many, and whatever fittings are on it. Added items are marked found, shown with a dashed border, and carried through search, the ISO view and the export — so an unlisted pipe becomes part of the survey rather than a note you have to remember.

Notes and measurements. Tap anywhere on an item — or the + Add a note or measurement line at the bottom of it — to open it, and you get two fields: the length you actually measured, and a free note for where it is or anything odd about it. Whatever you write shows on the item afterwards and rides along in the export, which is what turns a set of ticks into a record someone else can check. The same note field is on the Add item form.

Drawings. Import the isometric sheets as photos, scans or a PDF — a multi-page PDF becomes one drawing per page. Filenames containing "ISO 6" are assigned automatically; anything else lands in Unassigned and you set the sheet from the viewer. Once a sheet has a drawing it gets a dot in the ISO tab and a link straight to it. Pages are downscaled on import, so eight scanned sheets cost about a megabyte. Importing a PDF needs a connection the first time, because the PDF reader is fetched then; photos and scans work offline.

Your progress lives in this browser only. Data exports it as a CSV and imports one back — that is the way to move a survey to another phone, or to recover it if this one is wiped. Export at the end of every session.

Full list shows all 283 items at once. Search takes a diameter (90), a length (2470), a sheet (ISO 6), a fitting (valve) or an item number (#63), and several terms narrow together — 34 valve finds the Ø34 lines with a valve on them. Numbers match a whole figure, so 90 finds Ø90 lines and 90 mm lengths, not every 4590. Sort by diameter or ISO and it groups under headings; Hide found leaves only what's still outstanding.

By ISO sheet is the better mode if you get the isometrics from the yard. It opens in drawing order, branches indented under their pipe, so you can walk the run and tick straight down — and it carries the same narrowing controls, so you can pick a diameter, type in what you measured and filter on the fittings to find one line within the sheet. Within a single sheet a measurement pins down the right line far more often than it does across the whole job. The indenting drops away once you filter, because the parent of a branch may no longer be on screen.
